We whole heartedly believe that a tattoo is not only about the finished product, but rather a combination of a good connection with your artist, a welcoming friendly environment, and a room full of shared laughter and experience.
We are grateful for compliments about our work, but we are touched by the depth to which clients open up and share and create memories and conversation. It makes our jobs and lives that much more meaningful.

wesWes has been tattooing for 26 years and is well versed in all styles of tattooing, but is un-doubtabely at home in black and grey.
Wes loves biomech, portraiture, and is a master and tiny detail pieces. Wes loves any opportunity to bust out a marker, and customize your tattoo right onto your skin. Originally from Golden, B.C, Wes has been a fixture in the Calgary tattoo scene for more than 2 decades. Despite his talent and longevity, he is one of the friendliest guys you’ll ever let hurt you. In his spare time, Wes is an avid hiker, nature lover and ‘the God of Hakisack’ |
NinaNina got her first job in a tattoo studio in 1999. She began as a countergirl, and was eventually trained as a piercer. Three years later, she moved to Australia where she was an owner /operator of her first studio. Three years later, she was back in Calgary and opened the short lived ‘Stigmata Studio’ in Cochrane.
She worked at several Calgary studios, before opening Gypsy Rose in 2006 with her then business partner. The rest is history. Nina does not believe in spare time. She hangs out with her kids and her Papillon Birdie, and works tirelessly at her three businesses. |
dominiqueDominique has held every position at Gypsy Rose Tattoos since the year it opened. She began as a counterperson (actually…kind of a volunteer in those lean times ;) Within a year, she was apprenticed and became a full time piercer who still gets client requests even years after she has stopped piercing!
Dominique has always enjoyed painting, drawing and design in her time off, so the next logical move was to try her hand at tattoo design. She began her apprenticeship six years ago, and hasn’t looked back. She is known and sought after for her CRISP clean fine and bold line work. She is an expert creator of mandalas, geometric, blackwork and dotwork, but will not shy away from any challenge. In her time off, you can’t find her. Dominique generally takes any opportunity to get out of the city or country she can! |
kervinKervin is a fixture at Gypsy Rose. Kervin can be your custom artist, but is also comfortable working with client supplied designs.
Kervin is an avid comic book reader, and is the walking encyclopedia of the shop. Clients who have not been in for years are always amazed when they walk back in and are greeted by first name. How does he remember all that?! In his spare time, Kervin is a father of four and that pretty much consumes all of his time (and, most of his soul). |
DemaraDemara began tattooing in 2014 and has since become a highly skilled artist in virtually all styles of tattooing. Demara is known for her beautiful color floral work, animal portraits in both color and black and grey and micro-realism.
In her free time, Demara is a vegan (but not an annoying vegan that goes on and on about it), a chef, and dog mom to Fynn the Border Collie. |
DARYLEWhen Daryle isn't performing a double springboard moonsault off the top ropes or making whatever he makes with his many lathes and tools, or daydreaming of living the life of a reclusive woodsman, he is at Gypsy Rose tattooing realistic/surrealistic creatures and creations from the deep recesses of his wild imagination. Daryle does both black and grey, but is a true color magician.
